ನಮ್ಮ ಕವಿ Ghoshti

He! He!... I, no rather we never thought we can be a poet... one of my friends sent us a poem which was dedicated to his friend. Without knowing his dedication to his friend, I replied back questioning him about the girl in his poem in a poetic way. I am the first to break the ice by replying and others started replying in a poetic way as though everyone had got their ducks in a row. I am just thinking will one become poet when he writes about unknowns!, like we wrote today without knowing anything about that girl. Anyway we are just happy that we tried something new in our monotonous life and about our creativity on time. Here it goes…

A Reminiscence

I think this picture says it all; yes that’s how we wrote internals but exams we wrote sincerely. It used to be more fun during internals than normal classes. If someone writes internal without copying he/she is God/Goddess for us. I remember the tactics we used to copy, ha! It’s just amazing. Being Engineer today I don’t think we get such ideas. Common idea is to have micro Xerox or pre-written blue books or pre-written long sheets attached to blue book. OK I just like to paste here some of the copy memories.

To copy we had found a different and safer idea i.e. copying using calculator or scale or desk. No! No! If u thinks we used to copy using calculator memory, then you are a Software engineer. We used to write in pencil on calculator or on scale or on desk surfaces, which can be seen only in the shades of light and no body can notice it. I still remember how we used to take care of calculators like a child while commuting to college. Sometimes when we run out of space we used to use extra calculators and if we run out of space on desks, we used to use gal's desk's to write. Hmm! gals are not exceptional, they used to copy directly using textbooks.

Always we used to sit in zigzag manner. Which helps us to pass the copy info from first bench to last bench. The intelligent (intelligent = one who is having chit) one used to sit on first bench followed by others in zigzag manner. We used to have deal with our friends who prepared well for the internals. We were sent to other classes to write internals, so some of my friends instead of moving to that class they used to escape to hostel. They used to write there and return the blue book at the end. I feel this as height of copying. Another height of writing internal is E&C branch boy writing mechanical engineering internal. Ya as part of ragging, I wrote internal for my senior.

This reminds me my deal of copying with Kulda in one of the internal. He had the chit, so I went with him to lab to write internal. At first I thought he is having familiarization in copying, but while sitting beside him I came to know that he is impaired in copying. He trembled to copy, with anger I horripilate seeing his situation. I started objurgating him. Later he passed out the chit to me and I failed to copy the chit. Realizing that I gave a hangdog expression and he started teasing me. Finally we finagled in copying. We decide to hand over the book; but he was incertitude about our written answers from chit. I was not ready to take chance, so I moved to another class. Luckily no one was there to monitor that class, so I got involved in re-scribbling answer keeping another friend's book. After completion I started moving to hand over the book. Oops! I saw my lecture standing near the door watching me. I gave a guilty look, my behavior miffed him and his face turned red with rage. For my fortune he only scratched the part of the answer I copied. I bunked the class when he distributed our blue book. I went to his cabin with guilty to get my book and he smiled and handover my book. I opened and saw 24/25 woo! I exulted seeing the marks. He told "You wrote correct answer then why u wanted to copy again the answer?” I acted saying "No sir actually I knew the answer but I was not confident so...” He continued, "OK be confident next time". I thought "Ya I should know at least what I am copying".

Most of the time we used to pan out in our idea. Some times we used to get caught. Once lecturer took one of the gal’s blue book and he waved that book in the air. The chits in the book fell like autumn leaves. The other time lecturer questioned, “Shall I valuate book or this?” by holding blue book in one hand and chit in another hand, because the boy had left the chit in the blue book after copying.
Once he caught a boy who was holding the chit below his shirt collar and that boy was trying to win over him by saying “I swear sir this chit doesn’t match any of the questions here…” Most of our lecturers knew about our copying, but still they used to behave as unknown. Hmm! I just like to thank all our lecturers who allowed us to copy:) and to all my friends who created these memories. Oh! not to forget thanking my friend who provided me this photo from his database
I hope my fres in pic take this as part of fun, after all no body is squeaky clean.

Mast bardile MULLA……………I liked this statement very much “Once lecturer took one of the gal’s blue book and he waved that book in the air. The chits in the book fell like autumn leaves.”

What a simile !!!
